Check on the strong ones

There are people who are always there for others. The first responders. They would bend over backwards for others and their loved-ones, offer support and deny themselves in the benefit of others. They are caregivers, dependable, reliable and efficient. They always appear strong, have the ability to bounce back at the site of trouble, they don’t look weak and always perceived they have it all together.

These are the ones we all rely on, the cornerstone of our relationships and families, our sound board and cheer leaders. However this is life, it comes with various seasons, some are challenging, some are breaking, some are beautiful and rewarding and some are refreshing. Guess what we all go through them, even the strong ones too.

The strong ones are left mostly in the cold, left to figure it out, forgotten and isolated. They also need a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen and an eye to be seen, and the weight to be lifted of their shoulders for a little while, as they have a moment to exhale. May we find it in ourselves to check on them, to truly be there for them too. Life had made them strong however they also have soft spots too that need care and attention and mostly kindness.

A relationship is strong and healthy when both parties give 100% and this doesn’t just elude to romantic relationships but all relationships. We are all to do the work, cultivate the ground and water the seed. Nothing beats a well taken care of person, they do better, love better, care better, respond with kindness and Guinness. Vulnerability becomes easy and foster room for honestly and trust.

The strong are falling apart while the needy/weak are content and doing life, the strong are dying a silent death from the load they carry while no one checks on them, who is their sounding board?

Call to action : when you get time, seat and ponder who is the strong one in your life, call them, text them, check-up on them, your call and effort might be what saves a life and helps soften the load one carries.

Hi my friend, thank you for reminding us that even the strong ones need to be encouraged and helped frequently. Most of the time, we think they have everything together while they are suffering in silence.

Thank you my friend. Indeed, it is a mistake we often make and let us be awaken to care and check on others as they check on us too. We are to water each other, help one another. Lending a helping hand, offering support and checking in requires one to choose to be present and remember others as we journey in our lives. May the strong ones in our live not suffer in our watch.
